The instructions are correct. Put the part straight into the plating tank.

You are confusing two completely different things
Surface area has no bearing on mass - or weight For example: a 1" cube of marshmallow = 6 sq" surface area and 1/100 oz in weight a 1" cube of lead weight = 6 sq" of surface area and weighs 1/2 lb (approx)

I understand weight and area are completely different. I'm trying to understand how you determine an easy way to determine the surface area of a bucket full of small nuts and bolts. do i need to calculate the area of each bolt and nut and add them all together to determine the amound of current to use?
I was thinking that for each pound of typical automotive nuts and bolts, so much current would be applied. I'm wondering how many of the nuts and bolts i do at one time. I have the one gallon cad kit. Thanks for the help, i'm wanting to do the plating and any help would be greatly appriciated. Chuck |
