Hi everybody,
I am considering electroplating some drum hardware (steel hoops, die-cast lugs). Typically, both of these items are chrome-palated, so I will have to remove the chrome before I replate. I like the black chrome that Caswell has, but I wonder: will the electroplated finish wear ok? I'm curious if the finish on the hoops will hold up to a drumstick hitting it. I was looking into powder coating, but really like the look of the black chrome. Is a powder-coated finish more durable for a drum than an electroplated finish? If anyone has any thoughts/suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Sincerely, Joe Migliaccio E-mail address: jdmig-05@comcast.net |
