Default Removing Electroless finish...

OK, so here is the story. I thought I was helping my dad out by applying a nice Electroless Krome finish to the metal parts of his muzzle loader (he had some trouble with it rusting in storage). Now I find out that anything other than "browned" metal parts is not "correct" for the time period that the gun comes from and he may lose points at competitions for being "out of dress" or something like that. (He's a Pennsylvania Mountain Man).

So, is there a way to get the Electroless off of the parts? I only did the flint lock and trigger assembly so it should be easy as the other parts are still unfinished.

Thanks for the help.
