Copy cad vs. Cad plating....

any comments out there on the benefits of Copy cading vs. Cad plating.
The attraction to me would be the lack of incredibly toxic chemicals although I would rather not give up the great look of Cad plating.
Any and all comments are appreciated.
I did check the archives in "search" and came up with no definitive answer to my questions.
