I am just starting out and I just chromed my first piece, but I am having a problem with the part. I wanted to see if the chrome would strip off so I tried to scrape it and also through it around, now it's chipping off is it supposed to do that? I am using the five gallon triple chrome kit.

No it shouldn't chip off. It's either a cleaning problem or the nickle passivated before it went into the chrome. You should strip the chrome with pickle#2 muratic(hydrochloric) and the nickle with pickle#3 sulfuric. Pickle #3 will also activate the nickle. Read the manual for more details.
