Default pnp brass kit
I tried to brass plate a new penny which I cleaned with alcohol. The penny turned a dull nickel color. I then tried a knife blade and nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

Pennies are mostly zinc. Your knife is probably stainless steel. Both of these metals are problematic to electroplate.
