Default upping the amperage?????'s

Can I use a 50a variable rectifier and the nichrome wire method to chrome plate items larger than 50sq inches?

Realistically, how much amperage can be milked from a setup like that?

I missed this one.

The nichrome wire serves as a power resistor, it can only reduce the voltage from the power supply, this results in a corresponding reduction in current.

Adding the nichrome wire "resistor" in series with the power supply can be useful if the power supply voltage can't be adjusted low enough for the current you need.
