I need a clear chromate for copycad&zinc plated parts.
Caswell only offers yellow, OD and black. Anyone know of a source for small quantities of clear chromate? or know what chemicals it takes? |

Use the yellow chromate at a 1/4 of the minimum strength.

At 1/4 dilution strength, how does the thickness and durability of the coating compare to regular strength?
Or is it just a matter of leaving it soak 4 times longer? Does it still have a hint of yellow color, or completely clear? I'm trying to restore pieces that were originally done with a commercial blue tint chromate. Thanks! |
