I plan on trying to triple chrome plate using a car battery and charger arrangement. I plan on plating a part requiring 80 amps. Can anyone tell me what size charger I should use? Thanks for any input at all. I'll be using nichrome wire to control the current.

Depending on the battery, but you should just about get 80 amps from a deep cycle 12 battery. Better to put 2 in parallel.
