Zincate Mikuni HSR42 carb and use zinc blackener

Hi All,

Quick question, i polished my Mikuni HSR42 carb to smooth it out and get rid of the casting marks and plan to use zincate solution and zinc blackener to color it dark.
Anyone experience with this.
How will the result be and will it last for a reasonable time.

Anyone tried to anodise a carb of this make ? That would be my next option if zincate and blackener would fail.

Zincate DOES NOT give a zinc plated finish, just a thin layer of zinc that prevents the aluminum oxidizing before plating. You cannot use zinc blackener in this manner; it needs a zinc plate.
