Calling board gurus please. Having used the Black oxide coating for a small pile of nuts and bolts, I'm not satisfied. I have over 50 #'s of odd nuts/bolts/pieces in soft metal to spiff up and replant for restore purpose. The question is do I spend money on replacing with new, or continue the arduous abraisive clean ( tumbler), MEK the phoshoric rinse, then blackening, OR tin-zinc, then dry abrasive polish? I've ballparked new replacements at over $400, but the time and unknown final product in Tin-Zinc, or continuing blackening,
Any experienced users of the tin-zinc plate out there? |
