It has been suggested that you can dip an aluminum part in nitric acid between zincates to ensure it takes.
Does anyone know where I can buy nitric acid? Should it be diluted 50 percent wtih distilled water? Is this a good practice? |

I researched this awhile back and stumbled on a few articles that suggested a 60% nitric acid dip prior to zincating, to etch the surface. I have never tried it however. You can probably buy nitric acid at a chemical supplier like daigger.com.
Be careful when handling the stuff. Ken |
