I'm new to plating, and my first project is going to be copy chroming a Desert Eagle hand cannon (gun). I do not want the bore or chamber to be plated. How to I either plug it up or cover it to not be plated? Thanks for the help, and I'm sure there will be plenty questions soon to come.

Use the same silicone plug you use for powder coating.

there is a tape specially made for electroplating, 3M makes some. You could also "paint" the areas with laquer and then use a paint remover to get it off. I don't think I would use laquer in a gun barrel though. Just us a plastic or silicon plug, you might get some liquid in there, but it will not plate because the anode placement.
