A short dip in muriatic acid (Pickle 2) will remove cadmium plating. However, please be aware that cadmium is a highly toxic metal with long term exposure leading to kidney failure, cancers, and other ailments. If you use muriatic acid (Pickle 2) to remove it, you will have to deal with disposing of the spent acid at some point. Pouring it down the drain or dumping it into the environment would be the worst thing you could do.
