Hello group,
Can Caswell's Lab Metal product be used to fill pits in pot metal or would the "Pit-Stop" product work better? Reason for my question is a friend heard that I was undertaking chrome plating and presented me with a very very pitted hood ornament from a 57 Chevy. I figured since the "Lab Metal" product contained aluminum, the ornament could then be treated with Zincate, Flash Copper, Acid Copper, Nickel and final Chrome. Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Brian |

The manufacturer has told us that some people have been able to plate over lab metal, but this was with zincate and cyanide copper. We've tried with Flash and acid copper and have not been sucessful.
