Default Chrome Plating Needed!

Ok well here is my question and my situation here. I have a 1966 Ford F100 and a 1948 Chevy Coupe. Now what I am wanting to do is chrome my bumpers, my grills and some tail light bezels, etc. I know about powder coating, etc and have a PC kit but wanna do chroming. What kid and setup would I need to do this? I don't have much money to spend on it so any idea of what to do and how to save money for this?

Thanks a lot!

You would need a triple chrome setup to do what your talking about. The bumpers and grill would require a power supply to large for not much money. Your looking at 1 to 2 amps per sq. inch of surface area for the chrome. The taillight bezels are the only parts you mentioned that could possibly be a DIY size project and the kit price is more than it would cost to have them done for a one time deal. If your planning on a hobby or side line setup, Caswell has from small to large triple chrome kits at a good price. But that don't mean cheap. Best of luck. SS

If you need help with the parts I can do the work for you but then that means you wouldn't do it yourself, so think about it and let me know if I can help you, I have a chrome shop and I would be glad to help with your parts.

Thanks for the info guys. That is basically what I thought. How much would be a basic setup, say if I wanted to do a small side job type of thing? Right now I am about to start college at beginning of August and need some money and would like to do something more. Right now I am doing body work for old cars and primering them and then going to do powder coating once I find a solution to my curing problems since I have no 220 outlets.

If I can't get this kinda thing then Fly I would like to talk to you more about this depending on your prices and shipping. There are places around here that do it so I need to see about that first because shipping and all for me is a pain, I hate having to ship stuff if you know what I mean.
Thanks again and any more info is grealy appreciate!

Remember its not just the money, its the time to learn how to do the job, it takes time to get everything together. Plating has alot of factors in it and sometimes they all don't want to go together at the same time.
