I’ve been having a heck of a time trying to find a thermometer that doesn’t have a metal probe but so far I can’t find one. I wanted to get a digital one but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. So any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Caswell once described a way to use a metal thermometer.
Take a 6 inch long 1/2 inch diameter PVC pipe and put an end cap on it. Fasten it vertically to the inside of the electroless plating tank so that the open end is coming out of the plating solution by about 1.5 inches (the capped end will be submerged). Fill the pipe with distilled water and put the thermometer into the pipe to measure temperature. Ken |

My local grocery store has glass ones. Wally-world has glass ones. Check yard sales, my best glass thermometer ('50s vintage) was found at a yard sale for 50¢ Sean |
