Default Removing anodizing?

I just found you site and it rocks! I'm looking for the easiest way to remove annodizing from aluminum. I usually sand but found out today that I could use "Red Devil Drain Opener" to remove it. Also I love the look of polished alum. (almost chrome like, but high maint.) What would be the cheapest and best finish to keep the "chrome" like look of the part? Some one said I should just spray it with a clear paint. But I'm thinking about nickle plating or chrome plating, but don't want to get into a ton of money for kits etc. I will be doing small parts for remote control cars, paintball guns etc. Thanks for any info! And again this site has everything I'm looking for! Lee

Easiest way to strip anodize is with our Anodize and Chrome Stripper - http://www.caswellplating.com/aluminum.htm

Best way to keep a polished look on aluminum is to clear coat it - we have a complete kit. - http://www.caswellplating.com/alwheel.htm

Confused about this answer. I'm want to strip the anodizing off some car trim, polish, and then re-annodize. You suggest clear coat to keep the shine. I would think clearcoat has a tendancy to yellow and anodizing would be the preferred method to preserve the shine.

Sure, anodizing would be the best solution, but not the cheapest or easiest.

Clear-coating, if done correctly with the right product, should not yellow.
