I have yet to buy a nickle plating kit, but am thinking seriously about doing so. I noted that website says that you must supply your own power supply. What would outputs be, voltage/amperage, for nickly plating kit, 1.5 gallon? Anything else not included in Caswell small nickly plating kit?

For the size nickel kit you're describing, you can probably do with a power supply that can output 5V and 5Amps. In actual use, it's unlikely for the voltage drop between the anode and object will ever exceed 2 Volts when the tank is operated around 120 degrees F.
The same thing goes for the flash copper solution, as long as you operate with copper anodes. If you use 316 stainless anodes, the voltage requirement shouldn't be higher than 3V. You'll have to adjust the current (amperage) output in accordance with Jim's suggestion above, which will depend on the surface area you're plating. Ken |
