Default How do I raise the black krome ph level?

Caswell and community,

Please help. I have been plating with the black krome very successfully until about 2-3 days ago. I checked my ph level and it seems to be to low. It currently is in the 8-9 ph range. How do I raise it back up into the 11.5 ph range?

Thank you,

Sarah

Make sure you use city water for topoff...this will prevent the pH from dropping. It's one of the few times you don't want to use distilled water.

It's very rare that pH imbalances cause problems in plating. What exactly are the problems you are encountering?

I am not in the city, and do not have access to city water. I did use distilled water for topoff and some rain water that I ran through a coffee filter. My parts are comming out with spots that are not plated and they have any oily residue after they dry. Is there any way that I can raise the ph level for my black krome tank?

Running your agitation will also help to raise PH levels .
Before plating I usually run mine for up to 12 hrs before plating depending on the circumstances
such as how long it has been sense I plated last and how low the PH levels are
