Default Stripping chrome

Today I had a problem with my chrome stripper, which is made of caustic.

The pieace that I was plating in the chrome tank was not covered completly with chrome so I used my chrome stripper then rinsed and went straight to the chrome and it did worse than the first time. So I used my pickle #3 and still had problems with the plating covering the entire piece. Now I have blisters, I think from the chrome stipper at too many amps.
My question is do I go to the pickle after the stripper or do something different.

Any ideas would be helpful while Im scratching my head tonight and loosing sleep.

After using your stripper or pickle you should rinse then use your SP to naturalize the acid

it dose not take vary long in the SP maybe a minn or two.
What kind of a piece are you doing ? Is it odd shaped or ? How large is your set up ? Is it triple , copy or hard chrome ? Any time I have ever used a acid pickle for stripping I rinse go a few minn in the SP then re polish and prep before plating again
hey also i know sometimes you have a job your trying to get done if you need to talk to try and get this resolved

The part is a headlight cover on a Indian motorcycle.
My set up is 60 gal. triple chrome, which is made up of chemicals from different companys. I have been plating 3 yrs. now and I usualy figure out the problem myself but I found this forum and one other forum and it makes it easy to ask questions. My mistakes are just minor now that I have learned the hard way and don't have to ask what I did wrong, I just have to watch what the part does since they have a mind of their own. Thanks for the help and phone number I might have to give you a call sometime, especially when I get stumped. If you need anything from me or have a question you call me sometime, I do different things along with plating.
