The electrolyle is a gold based solution, whether using a gold anode or not.
If using a stainless steel anode, the gold is plated out of the solution. If using a gold anode, the gold is plated from the anode.
We haven't heard of Stripfree?

I found this topic looking through your pages
Using StripFree to Recover Gold from Electronic Chips
November 26, 2002
Pour StripFree into the pan until the cathode is completely submerged in the StripFree.
Turn on the charger. The cathode will start to fizz. The gold will start to dissolve into the StripFree. As metal continues to dissolve, it will begin to attach itself (plate) on to the cathode.
Sorry, I thought you were referring to a plating solution called StripFree.
This product is a method of recovering gold from circuit boards, not a method of plating gold onto items.
To plate gold onto other items, we suggest one of our Gold Plating Kits. See http://www.caswellplating.com/goldpl8.htm
We also sell a small brush plating system for $38.00. See http://www.caswellplating.com/plugnplate.htm
