Motorcycle Plating - Plating Powder Coating Buffing Anodizing

Hi,
I'm looking to do some chrome repairs on the crash bar of my motorcycle. It's sort of an awkward piece. I was thinking that the Plug N' Plate kit would do the trick. Have a look at the picture here and tell me if you think this is feasible. The orange area in the picture represents the part of the bar that needs to be re-chromed.

You could try the Copy Chrome Plug N' Plate Kit. What's the condition of the existing plate?

The existing plate is stripped where the image is colored orange. Otherwise the chrome is in perfect condition.

Is it stripped down to the underlying nickel, or the base metal? What is the base metal? If it's aluminum, the Plug N Plate Kits won't work well.
