Default Another about power supply

I am looking at the various kits avaliable and considering how to set up. It appears as though the main cost as you get into the higher end kits is the rectifier. I was wondering if it might be possible to use a welder as a rectifier. Mine happens to be a Miller 400, and has adjustments for both voltage and amperage. While it could be considered an expensive chromeing rectifier, it would be convenient.

Default Re: Another about power supply

Yes, it's possible.

Most arc welders supply 24 volts output and very high amperages, the latter being ideal for chrome plating. However, this voltage is generally too high, and needs to be reduced.

Complete details in our manual.
