What I have is a copper pipe horizontal on each side of my tank and one in the center for the piece that I am going to plate. The two pieces of pipe on the sides I hang my anode. The bus bar is in the center, sorry for the confusion, I read that you used bus bar and tank bar so I thought that is what you meant. Quote: (What guage wire do you use from the bus-bars to the tank bars and anode?)
So Yes I am hanging my anodes from what you call a tank bar according to your question earlier....good luck man, I will be away from the computer after my nightshift tonight at 7:00 until Friday, but you can call me if you like at (601) 549-6914

Ok, here we go after much time and alot of reading I have figured out my problem. The pipes I am trying to plate are 8 sq". Like I said the power supply is A caswell 25A unit. That's where the problem lies. To make A long story short, the caswell unit is is 25 amps and 12 volts. It only has one dial. So therefore it uses 1 volt for 2 amps. So if your plating tank requires at least 2 volts you must plate using 4 amps and adjust the amount of square inches that are in the bath to acomadate for the extra amperage. This can be difficut to do being as the amp per sq" requirements can be as high as 1 amp per 30 sq". So I would have to plate 120 sq". Try to put that in A five gallon bucket. Good news is that my money did not go to waste being as the chrome tank will need the higher amperage that this machine offers. But, In order to rectify =) the situation I bought the 5 amp cc/cv rectifier from caswell shipped to the door for $135. This unit is much more versatile than the larger unit being as it has independantly adjustable voltage and amperage. I am kind of dissapointed that caswell didn't stress this issue more. It would have saved me alot of time and frustration. They do mention it once on the website when you pull up the cc/cv rectifiers but dont emphasise the importance. Dont let this discourage you. Just plan on spending more money. THANKS AGAIN FLY FOR ALL YOUR HELP. Lance
