I am interested in replating the hardware on this drum..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...item=930738415 Any suggestion on how to retain the original look. Also, if there is chipping will the surface need to be sanded down? |

Hmmmmmm......The plating on the drum could be matched with copper plating. The sticky part of this will probably be that the copper plating that is on it now is protected from tarnishing with some type of a sealer (laquer, clear coat) This would have to be removed first, the metal cleaned and then you would probably want to brush plate the rubbed off areas. Then you will have to seal the copper again or it will tarnish. 48Buick |
