Default Bright Copper Problems! Please Help

Well im a little new at plating so im having a few problems! For starters i bought a used setup consisting of a dozen 40 gallon tanks. The copper tank is of course 40 gallons, with six anodes, and heated perfect. Anyways the pieces always come out dull and somewhat rough. I cannot proceed to buffing without sanding with 800 or so. Ph, specfic gravity, i dont know. Should i find out? High Ph mayb. Add some brightner, if so how do i measure that in the tank? High current maybe i know, bumped it down still the same but looks nice and uniform, but also still little rough. Any suggestions would b great! Thanks Ryan in Illinois

First thing you need to do is send a sample to a lab for test. THe lab I use is ABright. It sounds like your brightner is low.

The number is 1-888-8A-BRITE. You only need to send about 20oz.
