Default plug n plate silver kit

im having a problem with my plug n plate kit im trying to plate small copper pieces , im using the submerging tecnique the problem is the plating isnt thick enough to be handled, and when i leave the part in longer it turns black and to clean the part it rubs off some silver showing the copper.. i tried alot of things but im out of luck.. would using caswells bigger silver plating kit work better? im thinking about the 1.5 gallon kit you sell especially if it will leave a thicker coating of silver on the parts? any suggestions? thanks albie

How are you cleaning the copper?

How are you cleaning the silver plate after it's plated?

The PNP kits are designed as brush platers. In a pinch, they work for immersion, but immersion plating really requires an adjustable amperage power supply. I would think you'll have better luck sticking to brush plating with the kit.

the copper is cleaned with solvent in an ultra sonic tank, cleaned and wiped down with clean room rags.. the copper parts are handled with gloves throughout the process.. after plating the tarnished parts are cleaned with silver cleaning dip and lightlyrubbed with a cloth. my biggest problem is the plating rubbing off .. i have done light dips to try and not let the part turn black but the plating is so thin then its not worth it.. what can i do to get a good solid plating on the parts? ill try the brush set up this weekend and ill let you know just hoping it will lay i thicker, stronger coat then the dipping process... albie
