The 5 amp won't get the job done faster, it will just do bigger parts. You need 140ma/sq in to zinc plate.

Lance, could you explain your answer so as i know what to buy in a power source 140ma/ means nothing until i learn more, so the 3 amp will be sufficient??

You need 140 ma per square inch. You need to first calculate the surface area of the part you are plating and multiply that by 140 ma/sqin to give the total amperage to supply the part.

I would get the 5 amp, I bought a 3 amp but with the new zinc formula it takes more current, and am finding myself wishing I had a larger supply.

MrPontiac,
140ma/sq in to zinc plate written out is 140 milliamp (.14 amps) per square inch of surface area. In plating, the current does the work. I'm with Inferno, you'll be happier with the 5 amp supply in the long run.
