Default Help i don,t understand this part

First off, super, i used the heaters up to 140 degrees and soaked my parts for 30 min. In my other tank i have both plates in with a jumper in between to get positive to both plates, got the heater in distilled water, added chromate crystals then about 1 1/2 teaspoons of yellow brightener, for 30 min. my part is suspened off a 1/2 copper pipe with copper wire, for 30 min. so nothing i see nothing happeneing?? My question maybe i should use just yellow brightener and no crystals, directions are not helpfull

Can you please elaborate on your procedure? I assume you're trying to zinc plate, then yellow chromate something??

What's the part surface area? What metal is it?

What are you heating to 140F?

You added chromate, then yellow brightener I'm not sure what you're referring to here?

It kinda sounds like you've added the chromate to your zinc plating tank...which would be disastrous.

Zinc chromate crystals? (No such product)
Yellow chromate concentrate? Do you mean 'yellow chromate crystals'?

I'm not sure what you are refering to here. Are you saying you added the yellow chromate to something else?

Look at your invoice and check you have the terminology correct, please.

Then explain exactly what you added to what.

I spoke to you on the phone today and you had mixed the Zinc Plating Concentrate Part B with the Yellow Chromate.

When you get the new Part B we're sending, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions before mixing again.

Mr. Caswell, just wanted to inform you it worked like a dream, mixed parts together and got super results, Is it really important to soak the parts for 20 min. to half a hr.?? though?? Rectifier set a 5 amps with 12 volts, rinsed in warm water when dryed they look great, many thanks for your help!

Yes you would have to zinc plate them before you yellow chromate them. The yellow chromate is a conversion coating that converts the outer layer of zinc into a more corrosion resistant finish, so you need a layer of zinc for the chromate to work.
