How can I strip chrome from die cast?
How can I strip chrome from die cast? I searched the fourms and found how to do brass. I have an electrolosis barrel that I use for rust removal, with a washing soda solution and a varriable DC power source. I have never done any plating. Other than sandblasting, is there a good back yard way of stripping die cast?

It's best to blast it off, or grind it. If you use any acid solution, you risk the acid attacking the die cast and pitting it very badly, or at worst, disintegrating the part all together.
