Can you use zinc wire for anode in Zinc Plating (copy cad)?

Hello again! I was thinking on getting the Copy Cad/Zinc plating setup but was wondering if I could use 99.9% pure zinc wire (0.091" dia) for the anode(s). I was thinking about putting the wire around the inside of the bucket (tank) and hanging some parts in the center. My thought was that it could also be used to bend a "custom" anode for other parts that have deep crevices or inside popes, etc.

OMG! I'm sorry I meant pipes (tubes), not popes. Hope I didn't offend anyone since that WAS NOT my intention.

I doubt that will work. What I forsee happening is that the zinc wire will get depleted at various sections of your wire, breaking the electrical connection.
