Hydrogen bubbles, what & why??

Ok, im no chemist but in lamens terms, i guess im getting these hydrogen bubbles and pitting, i added 1 spoon of hrdrogen peroxide and it stopped. Ok so what causes this and what can i do to avode it happening again??
