Plating shocks
First off I am new to this forum. Looking through alot of the posts, I have to congratulate you on this forum, lots of great info. I have quite a few old snowmobile shocks laying around and was wondering if anyone had tried to replate the shocks. The ones I have are the old hydraulic ones which I do not think can be rebuilt or taken apart. I think if this is possible, I would like to try the acid copper/copy chrome kit on them. I guess I am just looking for another excuse to spend some more time in the garage.
Any ideas or past experiences are appreciated, Dan

what is the base metal of the "socks" if steel acid copper wont work, would have to use flash copper,then nickel etc.
