Subject says it all I guess. Will it flake off or is the electroplating process pretty durable? Zinc has seemed to hold up so far. Curious about the Chromate and black oxide finishes. I'm specifically referring to nuts and bolts that are plated in these finishes:
zinc/cad - Copy Cad Kit chromate (yellow and black) - Copy Cad Kit cold black oxide - Black Oxide Kit |

if the surface is prepared properly no plating will flake off,its permenant bonded to each layer. proper cleaning is the most important step, including a proper water break test. preperation is the hard part,plating is the easy part.
