nickel plating guns

First I know about metal prep. If its not prep proper its not going to plate proper. I will be plateing a reproduction 1860 colt cap & ball pistol. My Question is What do I do about the inside of the barrel and there are a couple of pins and holes they fit in that I need to worry about. I have never plated anything that tolerances are a concern. One more thing what about screw hole.

You can buy plug kits from caswell or I have used Hi Temp silicone let it set up good before plating. It will clean out well when finished.

For screw holes, you can plug them or just run a tap in after plating. I've also plugged the holes with the screws I was going to use so they would be plated too. (Leave them above the surface.)

I realy like the idea for screws, it sound like it will kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I've only plated a couple of practice pieces, and dam nervious about plating this gun .
