Just as a heads up for folks looking for power supplies.
I used my old Astroflight Battery charger, and it worked great. I connected 2 nicads in series with one of the leads, and then connected to the plating kit. The Astro charger has a constant current mode that can be entered by pressing the menu button while connecting to a power source (not outlined in the instructions, more of a "secret function."). Worked flawlessly, and goes up to 6 amps or so. The Astroflight charger is a higher end radio controlled car/plane/nicad charger. New ones about $100. Used about 1/2 that. Plates great. But, chromating really isn't working for me...see my seperate post. |
