copy chrome and rectifier question

Hi guys,
I am getting ready to buy the 3 gallon copy chrome kit. I also plan on brush plating gold and black chrome. I am looking at the professional brush plating kit for that setup since it has everything I need for brush plating.
My question is how large of an area will the 3 amp rectifier included in the brush plating kit be used to plate doing immersion plating? I will be doing small auto items, mostly emblems bezels,brakets etc..
Can the larger rectifiers be turned down enough to plate small items? If they can't, could I just plate several small items at the same time with a larger rectifier and get even coats across all the parts?
Lastly, is it worth it to own both the flash copper kit and the acid copper kit? How thick can the flash copper kit be built up to for restoring emblem and vehicle ornaments? Or, is it better to just buy the acid copper kit.
