What type of electroplating is this?
Hello, I happened to stumble upon a website that said they do color chaning chrome and they happened to show a picture of this.
 and this  Can anyone please explain what this is? Is it a new process or something. I think I want to get a few things treated like this but I would prefer to find someone local but I have no idea on even what to ask for? Color Chaning Chrome? Any help would be great thanks.

It's not plating, it's a type of paint.
It doesn't stand up well to the elements either.

Do you happen to know the name of the paint or what this is called? I am currently building a show car and have been using your polishing items (WHICH ARE GREAT BTW!) and have a few small things that I would love to add this type of effect to.
Could you possibly provide me with what that stuff is called and would I just be able to paint it over the aluminum parts that I have been polishing?

it is done with very high voltage way beyond what is avaliable for a hobby, it is electro--but not plating

Looks like zinc plating with a yellow chromate and the purple is created by exposing the chromate to heat maybe 300 deg F. Not to mention that the parts have a awful lot of zinc based on thier bright apperance.
This color can also be applied to titanium by exposing it to 100 volts D.C. in a sulfuric bath ie "titanium anodizing"
