The 2 anodes on my copy cad set are tied together with a electrical jumper wire from a package of 8 from radio shack,They are very light gauge. Im no electrical guy but is there a standard guage i should be using here?? Maybe it does not matter??/

Depends how much current you are using during plating.
Look here http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm for wire guage tables. http://au.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...sp?sku=3562438 for leads. These are 12A With the leads I only chose Farnell as an example you can get them a sheeeeeeeet load cheeper at other electronics stores. Work out what the maximum current is you think you will ever need and pick the corresponding wire. Note that as there are 2 Anodes in series, the current is half from one anode to the other and the full rating from supply to the first anode and your hanging bar. However the best wires I find are the standard power supply hook up wires with the 4mm stackable banana plugs. If they are getting warm, just jumper a second set in the plugs on the back to double the rating. Cheers Last edited by KCV6; 11-01-2007 at 08:50 AM. |
