How to hard chrome Stainless Steel?

How can I hard chrome plate 303 Stainless steel?

The purpose is for a hard surface rather than appearance.

Can't anyone answer this question?

Does stainless 303 plate the same as mild steel or is there something special required to make the chrome stick?

I hope someone knows if it can be done or not.

Plating Stainless steel is a special process which I have not tried yet. Hopefully someone will have an answer although I suspect it will be along the lines off the bond won't be that strong therfore it may defeat the purpose as the plating will flake off.

Electropolishing will give it a chrome appearance but I don't think it changes the hardness.

I wish I had seen that before asking the question here.
