Hi all... Right im totally new to all this but here goes... i have purchased a tripple chrome plating kit from caswell uk.The first question i have of no doubt many...how do i calculate the surface area of items, i have read a few posts & also refered to the manual but not being good at maths finding it really difficult to work out how it all works.
I have enclosed a photo of an item i wish to start off with (bike pedal arm-solid). It sits over 7 x 1" squares,is it possible to use the square grids for all items im going to plate as the shape of other items change big time. Would anyone be good enough to tell me how many amp will be needed for the pictured item? |

Look on this piece this is what I see
7" X 1" if your plating both sides that is roughly 14 sq I meen I can see there are holes on the ends but you don’t tell the thickness of the piece there is room for error its not an exact science its kinda like a Volkswagen engine if you over think it you will Jack it up try and think simple I hope this helps also you can try the surface area calculator on Caswells web site http://support.caswellplating.com/in...nloaditemid=18
