Default Explain nickel plating vs. cad plating to me??

How close to the same are they?? Differant electrolite all to gether?? curious and wanting to learn, Can i use my cad plating to do it??

Nickel is completely different to zinc (copy cad). The chemicals are completely different and can not be mixed.

Basically the same sort of process just different chemicals to deposit the different materials. Temperatures/ASI/duration in tanks are all different as well.

Most zinc setups are perediminantly ammonium chloride with zinc concentrate and some organic additives for leveling and brightning. Most Nickel setups are acidic and high in nickel sulphate with organic levelers and brightners.

If you place zinc in a nickel bath it will disolve due to the baths acidic nature and will wreck the bath. Placing nickel parts in a zinc bath will do nothiong to the nickel, hence you can zinc plate over nickel but not nickel plate over zinc.
