Oil Brushed Nickel Plumbing Fixture Look
Is there some way to get an "oil brushed Nickel" look for a bathroom plumbing fixture renovation project. I have experimented with brush plating and have got some of the parts nickel plated; they look pretty good. One of the trendy looks is a brownish patina on the nickel, any ideas on how to get that look?

The fixtures that I want to change the appearance of are brass underneath the clear coat and the bright brass gold looking finish.....very 1995.
In looking around the site I came across the Chocolate Brown "Metal Finishing Solution" Maybe I should just buff down to the brass and apply that solution. Has anyone tried it? How Durable is it? Would a laquer top clear coat help with durability? Two sinks, a tub, and shower...New fixtures will run $1,000 plus installation, if the "Metal Finishing Solution" will work it would be a great savings........Any ideas?
