Gold over chrome - Plating Powder Coating Buffing Anodizing

I know you can't plate over chrome but I was looking at getting the Gold plug N plate kit. it says to make sure it has a nickel base and then it says that Chrome has a nickel base...so does that mean I can plate the Gold over the chrome or to remove the chrome and plate on the nickel base?

You have to strip the chrome off to expose the underlieing nickel. If your fast to start plating you wont need to activate but I always do as I fond it leaves a better finish.

Thats what I thought. But I neve have used the Gold befor.
