hello guys!
I got an Aluminum item here the process I understand is, Zincate then Flash Copper. Reading the posts here the next step should be to plate in acid copper then nickel? Can I just miss this step out? And brush plate Nickel onto the Flash Copper? The item in question is an aluminum casing and is brand new and shiny. I want to achieve a mirror finish when I will go on to plate in gold. Also what is the difference between Flash Copper and Acid Copper? Thanks for your time |

You can brush plate nickel over the flash copper. The flash copper is alkaline, and can be plated as a strike over steel, pot metal etc. Acid copper can't go over these metals. Acid copper also can be built up very thick, used to electroform.
