I am hard chrome plating cold rolled steel the part is 3/14 X 1 3/4 X 3 1/4 I did the water break test. I an using a lamda Rectifier 24 amps 4.75 volts the bath is 110 degrees I checked the specific gravity of the solution and it is 1.162. I went by the book by reversing the current for 10 sec then making the anodes + and the part - at 12 amps for 1 min then ramped up to 24 amps for 3 min then reverse for 10 sec again the 1 3/4 X 3 1/4 suface didn't plate I can ramp up to 6 volts and 40 amps but I get a build up not a Flashed chrome surface. The rectifier is capable of 8 volts 100 amps. What am I doing Wrong?
