Default Which size "Copy cad" kit do I need?

I am considering purchasing one of the kits, only I'm not sure which size I will need. (3 gal vs. 4.5 gal) The biggest thing I would plate is probably a GM power brake booster. The rest will be small brackets and hardware.

I can source my own 6 gallon buckets; would it be a good idea to go that route, buy the 3.5 gallon kit and add an extra bottle of the zinc solution?

Web, my personal opinion, your brake booster will never fit in the 3 gal. bucket, been there TRYED that, area to small, 4.5 gal. may work, may work , dia. of brake boosters are large in dia., i just don,t think it will work but, give it a try.Im tinkering around with carb. q-jets and im having a tuff enough time in the 3 gal bucket. Good Luck and hope this helps somewhat.

Web -- I did my own booster and it was a PITA, you really need a square type tank and probably about 8 gallon volume, because you need some distance between the part and the anode. I have 6 gallon buckets that i use and 4 zinc anodes and even at that there are areas that don't plate as well. You have to rotate the piece during the plating to try to get even coverage. Also I found that the smoother the surface the better it looks when done. First time i tried it I went with a glass bead blasted surface and wasn't happy with it. Next time I tumbled the halves in ceramic media then plated and that looked alot better. Hope that helps................

Sheesh, maybe I will just send this out and have it done for $150. It sounds like a real PITA!

BTW I am restoring this stuff for a 68 GTO, perhaps you have seen me post on the performanceyears.com website.
