Here's a new one - Muriatic acid stripping...and plating?
Here's one I haven't read yet. I used muriatic acid to electrostrip some parts - apparently it stripped the copper as well.
Now I'm just using it to clean rust and strip chrome electroless. After it strips the rust and chrome, it actually plates out copper onto the nickel - no electrodes, nothing, just 60 degree "dirty" solution.
This brings up 2 questions. #1, why or how is it plating and #2, when the time comes, should I try to plate out the copper before I neutralize and discard it?
