Green olive drab ph will not rise?? why??

Well im still trying to figure out the secret to the green olive drab, please someone out there, Whats the secret, yellow comes out awesome, green comes out rusty brown, ive tryed everything i can think of??/

ok, i am dying to ask, is there a way of checking acid level, in the solution??

Yes, that is what the PH meter is measuring. If your solution is at 0.2 as you previously indicated, it is way too acidic and this will be blackening the zinc as it lays the chromate on giving the dark brownish to black colour.
